Dorset 2022 Collection

Summers at Hengistbury head are what our dreams are made of.

Over lockdown down I did 2 collections - "When We Couldn't Go" and "Freedom Comes in Waves". Much of my feelings that were channelled into this work came from missing that beach. In July 2020 we managed to get to it - a very welcome get away. A glorious get away that whisked us off to what could of been a foreign shore. The sand, the weather, the heat. We swam, played, ate chips and Ice creams that were bought to us by an ice-cream boat!
Re-united with friends we hadn't been able to see, kids were kids and it still sits in my memory bank as one of those moments - you know - one of those moments that's made your long term memory bank.

I've been looking for ways I could exhibit by the sea and stumbled across an ambitious Christchurch gallery owner. When I found out that Carolyn had accepted my proposal to work together on this exhibition I knew I wanted and needed to create some new pieces inspired by that weekend. A weekend of fun, joy, colour, heat, sand, sea and love.
